Date Added: Jan 28, 2025

The reports are starting to trickle in. As you might well expect in the beginning of a brand new year, this is a time when many forecasters take a look backwards to try and get a sense where the world of online gambling is headed. You will not even be surprised to discover that the latest reports show what was available through anecdotal evidence for much of the last year or so.

In a word, the world is going mobile. There is a seemingly insatiable demand for mobile online casino action. This really shouldn't be a shocker. After all, just a quick glance at the incredible growth of the mobile device industry is a clue too big to ignore.

Anyway, let's take a look at the numbers being discussed here. This comes courtesy of mobile analytical specialist App Annie. The latest report (about activity in the U.K. market) showed that from May 2025 to May 2025, there was a stunning 55% increase in spending for mobile casino games just on the Apple iOS platform. Reading further into this report, you will learn that what are referred to as card game apps also increased by 50% over the same year over year period.

To put that number in perspective, consider that the estimated overall value of the industry itself is valued at about $2.7Billion. Yes, that's a big "B". A sizable industry by any measure. This same report went further to extrapolate (forecast) the future of the online gambling industry. According to App Annie, the global online gambling industry should top $100Billion by the year 2025 if not sooner.

Not to be missed are the numbers that are reported from the Google Play store. (Android devices, in other words). Annie App states that there is a combined 105% increase over the same time period when looking at the combined revenue of both cards and online casino apps.

As you can see from the statistics reported above, the online casino player is pretty much demanding more and more action in the mobile space. Interestingly this bodes well for the online casino operator. According to App Annie the prevalence of mobile online casino apps, mobile cards apps and the like only tends to increase the marketplace acceptance of online gambling. This is due to the very real potential to easily introduce new online casino users who may not have even considered online gambling.
